News anchor 1: There are all sorts of collectors in this country. This time we have one from Karvia. The guy got hooked on pinball game, the real one with steel balls. Now he has a warehouse full of them, and can play whenever he wants. Interviewer: Kauko Kannisto from Karvia met his first love already when he was young. Kauko: The flame was lit when I was a kid and first saw these machines at a local bar. I wanted to have one at home someday ! Of course I didn't dare to tell anyone then, but now it is finally true - with some interest ! Interviewer: Today there are twenty mechanical beauties dinging and clicking at Kauko's arcade. You have only mechanical games, why ? Kauko: They have a certain very concrete feeling, you can see and feel everything happening. There are no fancy circuit boards or anything that I could not understand. Everything works with moving parts. It is easy to understand and learn how to fix them. Interviewer: Apparently they have a soul, don't they ? Kauko: Definitely yes. You can even tell the game by its sound. They are all unique. As one colleague said, circular motion fascinates crazy people - especially those who are pinball crazy. And circular motion is found on these games, as well as back and forth motion. It is fun. What can I say ? These are the only real games ! The great sounds and noises, colors, flashing lights, it's all fascinating. It is a mystic, even a little bit frightening machine standing at a bar corner. It flashes, it allures. It is the lure of the silver ball, that it sure is. The magic of the silver ball. News anchor 2: I recall it costs something to play those games ? I wonder how Kauko can afford it. News anchor 1: Don't know. But at least presumably he's not married ! News anchor 2: I believe that. News anchor 1: That's it, and now to the weather.
