Viiala Pinball Open 2006

27.8.2006:

After having attended a few SPO tournaments, we thought that arranging a tournament is not so hard that we couldn't do it! Preparations were started in good time, and I spent all my summer vacation fixing and waxing the games, while Taru made small and bigger touch ups with her paint brush.

Tournament was held on August 19. 35 players had registered, of which 33 showed up. Because of warm summer, the temperature in games room was 28 degrees C, and rising! Fortunately we had lots of cold drinks available. Next year, we must make sure the air circulation works.

The six machines selected for the tournament were

  • Blackout (Williams 1980)
  • Buck Rogers (Gottlieb 1980)
  • Xenon (Bally 1980)
  • Elvira and the Party Monsters (Bally 1989)
  • Fish Tales (Williams 1992)
  • Cirqus Voltaire (Bally 1997)

    and for the finals

  • Revenge From Mars (Bally 1999)

    At 4 pm, the game were played and result calculition started. The four top players continue to finals, that are played on Revenge from Mars. Finalists were

    Final game was tough, but both Petris got the top places. P. Taurio had an unbeliaveble ball #2, and so took the first place. Final scores:
